New Logo Design for 2024

Out with the old, in with the new. JD's Mug Shoppe new logo is quite similar to the old one, but with maybe a bit more dynamism in the overall design.  I always saw the old logo as a placeholder but I wasn't sure to improve upon the concept. 

The thick brushstrokes were meant to mimic some of the mug designs, such as the owl and hummingbird, and in that sense, I think they succeeded, but the design doesn't seem as "alive" as the bird coffee mugs, for lack of a better word. 

I ended up using Adobe Firefly (a generative AI program) for inspiration. After going through several iterations of coffee mugs, I found one that was close to what I wanted. I downloaded the image and re-drew a simplified version in Photoshop. After I was satisfied with the mug logo, I placed the "JD's Mug Shoppe" text in the image and uploaded it. I still might tweak the logo, but overall, I'm happy with the results.
